Chapter 4. The response to legal events
As already discussed, 1679 of the 2431 survey participants reported experiencing one or more legal events in the 12 months prior to the survey, with a total of 5776 events being reported. This chapter examines participants’ responses to legal events. Participants were asked about their responses to their three most recent events in the 12-month period, a total of 3024 events.
1 Participants provided information on their responses to 2921 of these events. The present chapter is based on these 2921 events.
