Legal Australia-Wide Survey: Legal need in Australia
The Legal Australia-Wide Survey (LAW Survey) provides the first comprehensive quantitative assessment across Australia of an extensive range of legal needs on a representative sample of the population. It examines the nature of legal problems, the pathways to their resolution, and the demographic groups that struggle with the weight of their legal problems.
7. Finalisation of legal problems
As noted earlier, 19 388 of the problems reported by Australian respondents were followed up in depth.(1)
This chapter examines the finalisation of these problems. It details whether or not these problems were over at the time of interview or still ongoing, and how concluded problems were finalised. The chapter also investigates which problems were less likely to be finalised and which respondents were less likely to achieve finalisation.
