Creating an accessible web site for vision impaired users
Ensure that your web site meets recognised usability and accessibility guidelines. At a minimum your site should meet the
World Wide Web Consortium Priority 1 guidelines.
World Wide Web Access: Disability Discrimination Act Advisory Notes, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.
These advisory notes are issued by the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission under section 67(1)(k) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. They are not legal requirements: they are advice on how to avoid discrimination.
Web accessibility workshops
are run by Vision Australia. This page also contains links to useful web resources on accessibility.
