Print chapter

8. Outcome of legal problems

As noted earlier, of the 19 388 legal problems followed up in depth in the Australian sample, 12 327 were finalised at the time of interview.(1) This chapter examines the respondents’ satisfaction with the outcomes of these finalised problems, whether favourable outcomes were achieved, and the problem and demographic characteristics associated with achieving favourable outcomes.

1. As a result of rounding weighted data, some numbers and percentages in the report do not sum precisely to totals.
