Reaching your audience: a discussion on promoting information and services to the community



ASIC and the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW invite you to a meeting to discuss strategies for how government and community agencies can effectively promote their information and services to the community. The discussion will be informal and based on participant experience and knowledge.

Venue: ASIC, Level 18, No 1 Martin Place (enter off Pitt St next to the Westin Hotel)

Aims

  • To improve access to information and services for the community
  • To identify common ground and share knowledge and experience
  • To discuss possibilities for future cooperative activities

Possible areas for discussion
  • reaching specific individuals e.g. indigenous, CALD, young people, older people
  • reaching specific organisations e.g. libraries, government, schools
  • promoting web services
  • using the press e.g. rural press, press releases
  • effective promotion and delivery on a limited budget
  • lessons from commercial marketing
  • existing networks

To cover these areas we plan to break into small group discussions. Please indicate which group you would like to participate in:

The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW seeks to advance the fairness and equity of the justice system, and to improve access to justice, especially for socially and economically disadvantaged people. Its core activities are identifying legal and access to justice needs; conducting rigorous, independent research to inform policy development; contributing to the availability of understandable legal information; and supporting projects and organisations that improve access to justice.

ASIC is an independent Commonwealth government body, responsible for consumer protection in financial products and services including banking, insurance, credit, shares, managed funds and superannuation.
