OLIN
The Online Legal Information Network (OLIN) is no longer active. OLIN was a NSW based network of people from non-profit organisations interested in using online technologies to deliver legal information and services to the community. It operated from 2002 to 2004.
Participating agencies included community legal centres, government agencies, courts, Legal Aid Commission, Legal Information Access Centre, Law Society, Law and Justice Foundation and AustLII.
OLIN had three aims:
- to increase the provision of legal information to the community by using online technologies
- to promote best practice in the production and accessibility of legal information and services on the Internet
- to provide a forum for building knowledge, exchanging information and discussing issues in relation to online service delivery
OLIN met three times a year. Each meeting ran for two to three hours and was based on a theme with speakers and opportunity for discussion. There was also the opportunity for formal and informal networking and information sharing. In addition to the seminars, an online discussion list was available to all OLIN members (around 100 people).
